Chris Boman joined the firm in March 2020 with nearly three decades of experience in family law. Chris’s paralegal career began working for a firm practicing in the areas of family, criminal, real estate and probate law, but she quickly transitioned to working exclusively in the area of family law for highly respected attorneys in Austin. In Chris’s 28+ years’ experience in family law, among other things, she has handled many high-asset divorce cases involving complex property issues and contested custody and visitation issues, as well as modifications and enforcements of prior and existing court orders. Chris’s extensive experience spans from matters of final disposition, including creative and solution-based amicable resolution through various methods of negotiation and mediation as well as more adversarial processes of contested hearings, arbitrations, bench trials and several jury trials. Chris is dedicated to her clients and empathetic to their individual situations and needs. She brings to this firm a wealth of knowledge and insight invaluable to the team at Maples | Jones, PLLC.
Chris is excited for the opportunity to continue working in family law as she remains dedicated to helping clients navigate the difficult processes involved in their family law case and working alongside the attorneys in obtaining the best possible outcome for each client. Chris lives in Austin with her husband, Gary, and their 3 dogs. She has 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren who she spoils at every opportunity. Outside of the office, Chris enjoys spending time with family and close friends, traveling, sailing, sport fishing, watching baseball and football, reading, cooking and generally relaxing.
FUN FACT: Chris not only introduced Nikki Maples to family law, but trained and mentored her nearly 23 years ago before Nikki ventured off to law school (Not much has changed, really. Chris still remains in charge.).

With prior paralegal experience, Molly Portwood-Kerrigan joined Maples | Jones, PLLC in July of 2024. Molly’s career started in corporate litigation, working on patent infringement, antitrust, class action, breach of contract, fraud, and employment cases. Molly’s substantial discovery and trial experience serves as a helpful and beneficial asset to Maples | Jones, PLLC’s legal practice since she can patiently and thoughtfully guide clients through the litigation process and supplement the advice of the attorneys when it comes to the courtroom setting. Molly is committed to compassionately aiding her clients as individuals with unique needs and ensuring that her clients understand their case at every step.
Molly is excited and eager to work more personally with her clients and to ensure that each client feels heard and advocated for. Molly lives in Austin with her husband. During her off time, she enjoys reading romance and philosophy, writing music, playing board games, and watching movies.
FUN FACT: Molly once accidentally and unwillingly swam in the ocean alongside several sharks.
Krissy Cooley joined the Maples Jones team in May of 2024. Krissy has over a decade’s worth of experience as a motivated advocate for families navigating legal challenges. With years of experience supporting attorneys in high-stakes cases, Krissy is committed to connecting with her clients and ensuring their understanding of the litigation process. Krissy is an empathetic problem solver for families in search of solutions.
Driven by a passion for making a difference, Krissy serves as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer, amplifying the voices of children in the foster care system. With a deep commitment to social justice, she advocates tirelessly to ensure these vulnerable youth receive the support and resources they deserve, working closely with the courts to champion their best interests.
Actively immersed in her community, she also serves as a Guild Member and Guardian Angel at the Center for Child Protection as well as supporting other philanthropic efforts such as Pop Up Birthday, Texas Advocacy Project and CureDuchenne. Krissy also enjoys spending time with her two mini-Aussies Lincoln and Porter, traveling, kickboxing and her newest hobby rowing.
As a huge Christmas lover, Krissy puts her Christmas tree up in October.
Jaclyn McLean joined Maples | Jones, PLLC in April 2025. She is a dedicated and detailed-driven Operations Manager at Maples | Jones, where she brings years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of organizational systems. Having started off as an office assistant, she steadily advanced through her career consistently demonstrating leadership, efficiency, and a sharp eye for creating efficient procedures. Not only does Jaclyn handle all business operations at Maples | Jones, PLLC, she takes pride in assuring that all client receive excellent service.
As a former collegiate softball pitcher, she brings the same discipline and competitive spirit to her professional life. Her background in sports taught her the value of teamwork, resilience and strategic thinking- qualities she applies daily in managing operations and leading teams.
In addition to her full-time role, she is a skilled bookkeeper and the founder of her own small business. Her entrepreneurial drive and financial acumen make her a trusted partner in both corporate and small-business settings. Whether she’s optimizing workflows or balancing the books, she is committed to excellence in every arena she enters.
Jaclyn lives in Round Rock with her fiancé Eric. When not working, she enjoys going to the gym and playing golf with her family.
Fun fact: While softball was the sport she played in college, basketball was second runner up. She played for her school and select team for both sports until she finally decided on softball in college.
Stephany Johnson, our Litigation Assistant, has over over a decade of experience in family law. Stephany provides critical support to the attorneys and clients. She has a strong background in legal administration and a deep understanding of family law procedures, she plays a vital role in preparing court documents, managing case files, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth communication. Originally from Minnesota, Stephany embraced Texas and proudly calls Austin home. She lives with her partner, a small dog, and a very opinionated cat. When she’s not supporting our team, Stephany enjoys tending to her vegetable plot at a local community garden (where she also volunteers) and exploring Austin’s trail system by bike with friends.
FUN FACT: She is a passionate gardener. Just don’t ask her to go anywhere near a spider. Tomatoes and Kale? Yes. Eight-legged roommates? Not so much.
