Chris joined the firm in March 2020 with nearly three decades of experience in family law. Chris’s paralegal career began working for a firm practicing in the areas of family, criminal, real estate and probate law, but she quickly transitioned to working exclusively in the area of family law for highly respected attorneys in Austin. In Chris’s 28+ years’ experience in family law, among other things, she has handled many high-asset divorce cases involving complex property issues and contested custody and visitation issues, as well as modifications and enforcements of prior and existing court orders. Chris’s extensive experience spans from matters of final disposition, including creative and solution-based amicable resolution through various methods of negotiation and mediation as well as more adversarial processes of contested hearings, arbitrations, bench trials and several jury trials. Chris is dedicated to her clients and empathetic to their individual situations and needs. She brings to this firm a wealth of knowledge and insight invaluable to the team at Maples | Jones, PLLC.
Chris is excited for the opportunity to continue working in family law as she remains dedicated to helping clients navigate the difficult processes involved in their family law case and working alongside the attorneys in obtaining the best possible outcome for each client. Chris lives in Austin with her husband, Gary, and their 3 dogs. She has 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren who she spoils at every opportunity. Outside of the office, Chris enjoys spending time with family and close friends, traveling, sailing, sport fishing, watching baseball and football, reading, cooking and generally relaxing.
FUN FACT: Chris not only introduced Nikki Maples to family law, but trained and mentored her nearly 23 years ago before Nikki ventured off to law school (Not much has changed, really. Chris still remains in charge.).
